SENKAKU

News:

At Senkaku we proudly celebrated our 5th anniversary in September 2018. See more about our event "Metamorphosis of the Fox Spirit" here...

Founded by Milla Reika, one of Osaka’s leading international talents in the art of Japanese bondage, Senkaku, serves as a semi-public space for open-minded Kinbaku and BDSM enthusiasts. We welcome open-minded, safe and consensual practitioners from a wide spectrum of gender identifications, sexual orientations, kinks, fetishes, and interests.

Senkaku is situated in a private apartment-style establishment, that provides an alluring yet intimate and safe environment. Furbished in an ornate Japanese decor fused with a BDSM aesthetic it is fully equipped with rope and suspension points, as well as an array of BDSM and fetish-related gear for those desiring to explore different avenues of play. We invite guests to mingle, indulge in kinky activities, and perhaps share a drink or two. That being said, our community is not limited solely to BDSM practitioners. We wish to foster an inclusive atmosphere for all guests, from experienced players to the merely curious.

Our monthly Saturday night social (similar to a 'munch') is a low key get-together that aims to provide an opportunity to meet interesting people and indulge in activities if one is daring. Each month will have a slightly different tone depending on the theme, and contents.

Please note that this is not a workshop/lesson evening.  For Kinbaku enthusiasts or the curious check out our weekly social Kinbaku night - Nawa-Yoi or take a look at options for private one-on-one tuition (details below).

NAWA-YOI - Kinbaku Nights -

緊縛 (KINBAKU)ーJapanese Rope BondageーSocial Night

Held weekly at Senkaku, Nawa-Nawa-Yoi is a night dedicated to all things rope; there is room for discussion, instruction, study, and play. We offer a relaxed and friendly environment that welcomes those wishing to learn; those wanting to experience being tied and the curious who merely desire to observe. Every skill level is more than welcome. While a primarily a social rope night I, Milla Reika, am available to offer advice, and/or where time allows, an experience being tied up if you desire so.

At Senkaku salon we have a relatively even mix of local Japanese people, non-Japanese bilingual people living in Osaka as well as travelers passing through from various countries. So don’t worry if you don’t speak Japanese.

Attendance:

Please note that Senkaku is run in a 'private' establishment, so if you'd like to attend, please message me with a short introduction, allow me to ask you a couple of questions, and I will message you the address privately.

When: Held weekly (days will vary from month to month. Please check the calendar or email Milla for this month's schedule)
Time:   Night session: 8pm-midnight | Day session: 3pm-9pm*

Fee:     3000/person* / 2500/person (for members)

** First-time membership fee of 2,000. Receive discounts off the participation fee.

**Dates/times/info updated as of Mar.2019. *fees may vary on particular nights depending on the content. Please check in advance

Other Things to Know:

*Nawa-yoi is not a workshop evening. While Milla endeavors to offer light instruction and advice, there are no scheduled lessons and one-on-one instruction will be dependent on available time. If you wish to receive more concentrated instruction please contact Milla about setting up a private lesson.
*While there is no dress code, 'rope friendly' is generally a good idea. If you can imagine being tied during the evening, make sure you have something you feel comfortable in (stretchy, tight-fitting clothes, underwear, bare skin, …) that will take the strain and don't mind a little jute fuzz.

**It is advisable that those who are wishing to learn rope to come along with a practice partner. If you do not have a partner to come with then you are welcome to come along alone, and we will endeavor to team you up with another participant should he/she be willing. Even if you cannot practice hands-on we believe that watching can be a valuable source of study so please don’t hesitate to come along. (Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will have a practice partner.)

PRIVATE TUITION

Milla also offers tailored private one-on-one tuition for those wanting concentrated instruction on learning the core technique and heart of kinbaku. During this time Milla will delve into not only the form but the underlying aspects of 'seme' including rope handling and its application to the body in order to evoke pleasure/pain and the sense of constraint in a safe and respectful manner.

Tuition fees: 8,000/hr + 2,000 for studio use

2.5hr Lesson: 20,000 yen (studio fee discounted for 2.5hour lesson+)

Intensive Lesson (10+hrs): ~/hr. *discounts negotiable depending on content and needs.

Intensive lessons are a series of 2.5hrs lessons held regularly over a specified period, usually one or two months depending on the number of hours booked. To ensure optimal progress it is recommended to keep lessons frequent (2.5hrs x 2-5 times per week) and allow time for practice in between lessons

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Milla also offers private kinbaku sessions* for those wishing to experience being tied in a safe environment. Sessions can be for the experience or for educational value. Couples and singles are welcome, however, please note that in the case of singles a prior meeting so that Milla can get to know you first, is required.

From a teaching perspective, if you're just getting into kinbaku, and enjoy being tied, it is good to understand what kinbaku should feel like and to be able to discern the difference between what is ‘safe‘ and 'unsafe’ kinbaku practice. Milla has trained for over 9 years in Japan and will endeavor to ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable experience that you can take away and hopefully apply in your own practices.

From 25,000 per session*

**private kinbaku session usually spans from 90-120minutes. Please note that Milla does not offer BDSM pro-domme sessions or sexual services or any kind.

FAQ: New to the Scene?

We understand that it’s easy to feel nervous as a first-timer and will do our best to make you feel as comfortable as possible during our events.  Please read the following points to gain some insight on what to expect at Senkaku:

  • At Senkaku we endeavor to provide a safe place where people can feel free to explore their sexuality and orientations. If it is your first time, please send an email introducing yourself to Milla. Please also read through the points listed below.

  • There are no dress code requirements at Senkaku. The setting is a private apartment and you are therefore welcome to wear whatever you like, or nothing at all!

  • Participation in all kinbaku and BDSM-related activities is strictly voluntary. You will not be pressured to do anything you don’t wish to do. If you’d just like to watch participants play while having a chat with other observers, that’s completely fine.

  • If you do choose to participate, our staff will ensure that no photography will be taken of you without your permission. We are well aware of how important privacy is in the world of BDSM.

  • Additionally, you will not be touched without your permission. Guests may not engage in play with others unless explicit consent is given. Milla Reika will not involve other people in activities with guests who have consented to participate solely with her. Anyone who feels that their boundaries are not being respected should immediately inform Milla Reika or another staff member.

  • You will find a mix of all types of people at Senkaku Salon. Our members are male and female, young and old, gay and straight, thin and round, international and Japanese, and anything and everything in between! All guests are welcome as long as they follow our policies and behave in a safe and respectful manner.  If this type of environment appeals to you, chances are you’ll fit right in.

  • It is not necessary to speak Japanese in order to enjoy yourself at Senkaku Salon. Milla Reika is bilingual in English and Japanese and can address any questions or concerns that you may have. There are often other bilingual or English-speaking guests in attendance at our events, as well as locals who may be keen to practice their English-language skills. If you’re interested in learning Japanese, our events are a great forum to practice and pick up some kinky vocabulary.

  • The safety and comfort of all Salon participants are of the utmost importance. While we do serve alcohol at our events, we encourage guests to drink responsibly at all times. Senkaku staff members reserve the right to intervene in a BDSM scene or refuse to allow a scene to take place if participants are overly intoxicated or behaving in a potentially dangerous manner.

  • Finally, while we endeavor to ensure the safety of all participants by attending our Salon you agree and understand that participation in any activity is at your own risk and will not hold Senkaku Salon liable for any any injury or damage to yourself or your property.
